They learned how to make rope, shoot a cannon, what soldier life was like, and they toured the Battle of Lexington Battlefield and the Anderson House that was used as a field hospital. Finally, we visited the Lafayette County Courthouse where students sat in the courtroom where one student's great-great-great grandfather presided as a judge in the 1940s.

Shawnee Student Council members enjoyed a Service Project field trip today. Using $500 they had earned from fundraisers, they purchased hygiene and food items from Walmart. Those items were then delivered to the Clinton Community of Christ Church for the Blessings Boxes. We then spent some time at the park before eating lunch at El Puerto. I'm proud of how hard these students work, especially to help others!
